hello,

I just scanned this picture of my two boys.
They are my little/big angels. The German Shepherd's name is Diesel he is 3. The Black Lab Newfoundland's name is Grizz and he is 1. Almost two (April 29th).
They go with me every where, and yes they are very very smart to boot. I got diesel when he was 6 months old. I saved him from a lady that wanted to have him put to sleep because she was mad at her husband. Grizz came to the shelter that I work at when he was 10 months old. He was first in a home with 10 children and he was too big a dog for a household that big. Then he went to live with a rich man that already had a 10 year old dog. Well you don't get a 10 month old dog as a companion for a 10 year old dog. Anyway he left Grizz home alone or 14-16 hours a day and Grizz chewed up a pillow. So the man was going to just let him loose and hope that he would be ok. He did call the shelter , at the time we had no room in the shelter so we couldn't really take him, but we felt bad and said that he could bring him. well Grizz was going to have to sleep in a cat cage because we had so many animals and I said I would take him home for the night. well that was in June and today I still have Grizz, ge has become a part of our family. His name was originally Diesel and I couldn't have 2 dogs named diesel, so I thought that he looked like a bear a grizzly bear so hence the name grizz. They both love o swim, play or should i say eat Tennis balls, watch tv/movies, and hog mommies bed. Needless to say I love them very much and they are special to me. I keep telling my mom that they are her grandchildren, but she says" I am not a grandmother to dogs".-)

Do I Go Home Today?

My family brought me home cradled in their arms.

They cuddled me and smiled at me and said I was full of charm.

They played with me and laughed with me and showered me with toys.

I sure do love my family, especially the girls and boys.

The children loved to feed me, they gave me special treats.

They even let me sleep with them - all snuggled in the sheets.

I used to go for walks, often several times a day.

They even fought to hold the leash, I'm very proud to say.

These are the things I'll not forget - a cherished memory.

I now live in the shelter-without my family.

They used to laugh and praise me when I played with that old shoe.

But I didn't know the difference between the old ones and the new.

The kids and I would grab a rag, for hours we would tug.

So I thought I did the right thing when I chewed the bedroom rug.

They said that I was out of control, and would have to live outside.

This I did not understand, although I tried and tried.

The walks stopped, one by one; they said they had no time.

I wish that I could change things, I wish I knew my crime.

My life became so lonely, in the backyard, on a chain.

I barked and barked all day long to keep from going insane.

So they brought me to the shelter, but were embarassed to say why,

They said I caused an allergy, and then they each kissed me goodbye.

If I'd only had some classes, as a little pup.

I wouldn't have been so hard to handle when I was all grown up.

"You only have one day left." I heard the worker say.

Does that mean I have a second chance? Do I go Home today?

Eyes, Eyes, Eyes,

So I have been wearing contacts since I can remember. Well about a month and a half ago I ripped one of my contacts. So I have been wearing one Contact for about a month now. i have been calling the eye doctor's office about once a week to see if my contacts are in yet. well the other day I ripped the one contact I was wearing. I have to let you know that thanks to my dad I am blind as a bat and have a stigmatism. So I cannot see a thing. I cannot legally drive or anything whit out eye wear. Well I searched my whole house and found a pair of old lenses and frames. Well the frames had been chewed ages ago by a dog. and in really bad shape.
Well Needless to say I had to wear something so I found some duct tape and taped them together. this happened on Sat and of course everything has to happen when the eye doctors are not open so I had to wear those awful things for 2 whole days. Monday finally came and I went to the eye doctors at lunch. They had to give me a child's pair of glasses because my lenses were do small. They are not the most beautiful glasses but they only cost $18.00 and they are a whole lot better then the ones I had. I did by the way order a new pair of glasses and I found out that my contacts are back ordered until the end of April. Maybe I am suppose to learn not to be so vain or something. but hey I did learn that duck tape works for yet another purpose. If you have time you should check out this duct tape web site and also can play duct tape games. http://www.ducktapeclub.com/world ( this is for my dad and brother) I am not really a red neck by hey when it comes to seeing or being blind I chose the duct tape.

03/13/2007 ok ok I know that I said I was going to be better at blogging, but I have not and for that I am sorry. My wonderful mom keeps telling me " your brother updated his blog why didn't you.? Well Lets see it' been cold today -25 with the wind chill. About a month ago I ripped one of my contacts and I called the eye doctor to replace it, but my contacts have been back ordered so I have been walking around with one eye. that is such a pain. I thank the Lord that I am not totally blind. At the animal shelter where I work we have a blind cat. her name is Keller. get it( Helen Keller). I'll try and figure of how to get a picture of her on here so everyone can see her.

Also at the animal shelter, we are having a bout of ringworm. For those who are not familar with what it is. (Ringworm is an infection caused by a fungus that grows in the dead, superficial layers of the skin, hair or nails. It has nothing to do with worms. The scientific name for ringworm is dermatophytosis, and fungi which cause the disease are called dermatophytes. There are approximately 40 different species of dermatophyte, each tending to cause infection in particular species of hosts. In the cat, the cause of more than 90 per cent of cases of ringworm is the dermatophyte Microsporum canis (M canis). The treatment for ring worm is Lyme dipping which is made with sulfa. Let me tell you after Lyme dipping 150 cats. My arms looked like raw hamburger( you can thank my mom for that analogy.) because of all the cat scratches, bits and the sulfa eats at your skin. The other treatment that you have to use is athlete's foot cream you put it on the bare spots. Some cats loose there fur . so needless to say I have been having loads of fun. At least it's 45 outside today and it won;t get dark for another few hours. but I must go do something responsible. I am hoping to get a computer of my own soon. that way I won;t have to go use the library's and I can really update more.
